R Engine And Performance Specs

After many years on the forbidden fruit list, the Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R is fair game in America. While most manufacturers are selling cars with more features and corresponding price hikes, Nissan is bringing out a less expensive GT-R trim, called Pure, to the lineup. For the Nissan GT-R safety features, it has safety kits included- front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera and proximity radar with obstacle detection.

Already incredibly impressed by previous models, stated that the new "2012 model positively stunned us into silence." In its fourth year of production, the 2012 Nissan GT-R comes with several enrichments. Renowned for his over-the-top supercar creations, Liberty Walk founder Wataru Kato marches to a slightly different beat with his personal Skyline.

This was followed by 554 NISMO GT-R's in 1990 and were all Gunmetal Grey in colour. The rear highlights the car's wide track with taut, muscular flares around the wheels, while the shoulder line tapers around the base of the rear window and draws toward the centre of the boot lid.

Nods to the car's performance pedigree include a driver-selectable three-mode suspension system, Recaro sport seats. Premium, high-octane fuel required like most supercars. Nissan rightly realized the brilliance of the Skyline concept, kept the Skyline” moniker around for successive cars, and continued to develop the engine—and that engine is magnificent.

The GT-R's rear fascia has been extended at the sides to accelerate air away from the back of the bumper, helping to pull hot gases away, to cool the exhaust. The Nissan Skyline GT-R is currently owned by Munich-based car restoration firm GT-A. Twin turbos strap to its engine, and that power spins out through a dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels through an exceptionally quick-acting all-wheel-drive system.

When the 510 hit American shores badged as a Datsun, it offered buyers a unique combination of features at a low price, undercutting the BMW 1600-2 (a car with very similar specifications) by nearly a fifth of the BMW's price. In truth, I could have chosen any of the other cars here and still be enamored: the revived Japanese coupe, the pure roadster, the plush GT fit for a king, and the true hot hatch.

Italdesign developed, engineered and built the car, but the interior and exterior looks were created by Nissan's design teams in Europe and America. The GT-R has also retained its Skyline predecessor's nickname, Godzilla , 9 given to it by Nissan Skyline GT-R the Australian motoring publication Wheels in its July 1989 edition.
